Dollywood, nestled in Tennessee's scenic Smoky Mountains, continues to captivate visitors with its blend of Southern charm and expansive offerings. Owned by Dolly Parton, the theme park has launched a half-billion dollar expansion over ten years, significantly enhancing its attractions and facilities. As Dollywood enters its 39th season, it offers more operational days than before—280 in total, an increase of 23 days from the previous season.
The park’s new star attraction, the Dolly Parton Experience, replaces the former Chasing Rainbows museum. This interactive exhibit immerses visitors in Parton’s life journey from her roots in Sevier County to her rise to global fame. It features areas like Songteller, which displays Parton's personal memorabilia and a 360-degree projection mapping her life story, and Behind the Seams, offering a peek at the creation of her iconic style.
In addition to revamped shows, such as a new interactive sing-along of Parton’s hits, Dollywood continues to thrill with its rides. The park boasts nine roller coasters, including the $25 million Big Bear Mountain—the park’s longest coaster—and the updated Lightning Rod, which now accommodates 1 million more rides annually due to its new high-speed lift.
Dollywood also hosts various annual festivals, such as the Flower & Food Festival showcasing over a million blooms and the Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration featuring nightly drone and fireworks shows. Each season brings unique festivities, from the autumnal Harvest Festival to the dazzling Smoky Mountain Christmas with over six million lights.
The park's latest addition, HeartSong Lodge & Resort, offers a luxurious stay inspired by Parton’s love for the Smoky Mountains, while the original DreamMore Resort and Spa has undergone a major room refresh, enhancing its offerings with Parton-themed decorations and amenities. For water lovers, Dollywood’s Splash Country provides a cool retreat with its slides, pools, and entertainment options.
With its continual expansions, unique attractions, and heartfelt homages to its founder, Dollywood remains a top destination for those seeking an immersive and enjoyable experience in the heart of the Smoky Mountains.
